Bead Hoarder's Blog Hop Reveal

Well, I have been making lots of stuff with my hoard of beads and things. Haven't quite finished everything thing that I have started but I will eventually.

I started on a Mermaid's Necklace in freeform, that will use lots of beads:

still can't decide how I want to hang it, playing with some possibilities ( any suggestions?0

next I went to a Gem and Mineral show and bought a bunch of stones so I did a little wire wrapping:

That is it so far, my bead hoard is not much smaller, but I have been busy and it was fun! Annita

  8. Gorgeous - I haven't tried freeform beading yet, I am quite afraid to :) Your mermaid necklace is gorgeous. I love the shell wrapping a lot! (I like the other 2 as well, but the shell really speaks to me!)

    1. Cynthia, I found the free form to be quite liberating, if you make a mistake you just incorporate it into the design and do whatever you like. no rules in free form Annita

    1. Thanks Ilenia, you are right a beaded crochet necklace would be great but I have failed many times attempting bead crochet so I will most likely hang it from pearls with perhaps a few crystals thrown in. Annita

  17. Annita your jewelry is wonderful. The Mermaid's Necklace is way cool. I think I would stitch spiral rope straps with more of the beads you used on the shells. That should give it movement like the water would have. I have seen lots of wire wrapping but the small gold rounds add a special touch. Good job.

    1. Thanks Becky, I thought about a spiral rope at first (it/s what I did on my pink and white freeform) but I am leaning towards just using pearls, I have some in the same blue as the beads on the shell. I can't decide what I like best, I do beading, wirework and silver smith work, I guess I am just like to do a little of just about everything when it comes to jewelry. Annita
