Finally finished all my makes from the Bead Soup that I received from my partner Alice
here is what I started with:
I used the ceramic focal bead along with some wire and a mix of seed beads to create this necklace and earring set and used some of the red and brown beads to make a coordinating bracelet:
I then used the fab artisan made button by Collins with some "wonky" pearls that I had to make a necklace and earrings:
Alice had included a piece of silk ribbon and I had never used fibers in my work so I struggled to come up with a design idea. I added some copper washers and came up with this necklace and earring set:
I also made something with the blue beads that were in the mix. I had a glass tube bead that was the same color so I used it as a focal and added some silver disc beads to create another necklace and earring set:
All in all I found my first experience at a Bead Soup Blog Party to be an interesting and challenging endeavour!
Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with, especially my partner Alice. This is what I sent to her:
Lovely stuff. The washer necklace rocks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Beti, I found the idea for the washer necklace on Pinterest and changed it a little by graduating the sizes of the washers.
DeleteGreat pieces - love the ribbon and washer necklace!

DeleteDelightful.Amazing what you can do with a handful of washers.Love and hugs Tanya

ReplyDeleteCheers!

I think you did a great job doing justice to the soup mix and opening up your creativity -- rock the washers! The reds are nice and you did great with the pearls. I'd say you provided a nice representation of your skills.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jami!
DeleteLove the copper necklace with the pearls - looks lush
ReplyDeleteI was amazed that the "wonky pearls" that I had were a perfect match for the color in the button that was in the soup from Alice
DeleteWow great pieces - I really love the copper washer/silk ribbon necklace =)
ReplyDeleteWow, so many pretty pieces! I love the necklace with the wonky pearls :-) but I think my fave is the copper washer necklace. Hard to believe you've never worked with fibers. You did a fantastic job! What a great first BSBP reveal!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I was stressed about the fibers in the beginning but think I will use in the future now

DeleteAnita, I am sure you didn't expect this, but I bet by the end of day most comments will favour the ribbon nelace: it is simply gorgeous. The pearl and button piece has such an organic feel, it just wears beautifully. I love how you used all your ingredients to cook so many servings!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alicia, since this was my first time in the bead soup I really wanted to try to use everything that was sent to me. I had a great time creating and found it so challenging

Deletethe washers & silk is great, even better for a first time w/ the silk~as for the wonky pearls, I like those the best, great necklace!
ReplyDeleteYou really did work magic with your soup. Everything looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I really had fun and in the beginning when my soup arrived I was totally stumped as to what to make
DeleteOMG, the chain and ribbon one took my breath away, and the first one looked like the sun shining down on it. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary, that one is made with copper washers woven into the ribbon. I think the orange one will be a great sunny summer look
DeleteOh wow, you really used all parts of the color spectrum! I love them! The chain necklace is really elegant, too.
ReplyDeleteI hope to see you again for the 7th Party!
Can't wait for the 7th party Lori, I had a ball with this one!
DeleteBTW it isn't chain it is copper washers woven into the silk
DeleteGlad you got that silk; you should use textiles more often now since they inspire you to make things like that!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I plan on using more textiles now that I have overcome my fear of them! LOL
DeleteVery cool - love your use of the copper washers with the fiber!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherri, that was my biggest challenge and my favorite piece!
DeleteThey are all beautiful, I especially loved the pearl one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather!

ReplyDeletejean yates
Thank you so much Jean, it is always nice to get compliments from fellow jewelry artists
DeleteGreat designs! I'd love to see the copper and silk piece being worn. I bet it would "sit" beautifully.
ReplyDeleteYes Karen it lays beautifully when worn, I tested it out and plan to wear it to Church in the morning. I graduated the sizes of the washers from small to large at the front to make it hang properly, I was afraid if they were all the same size it would flip over and not hang right
DeleteI'm exhausted just looking at all of the great pieces you made! The copper washer pieces are definitely my faves!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacie, they are my faves also!
DeleteI love the copper washer necklace. My favorite! You were a VERY BUSY gal! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dyanne, it is my fav too! I put off getting started on my makes because I have had one grandkid after another visiting, but as soon as the last one left town I hit the ground running and got on a roll -- things just came together swiftly after that

ReplyDeleteThanks Tammie, I love the texture of the "wonky" pearls, don't really know what the proper name for them is...
DeleteThe "wonky" pearl necklace is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteand I love the necklace with the addition of the ribbon.
Thanks so much, I had lots of fun working with my soup and challenging myself to step out of the box and use materials that I would not normally have chosen Annita
DeleteBeautiful designs, the copper washer necklace is my favourite but the pearls are utterly drool-worthy too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacy, I wore the copper washer necklace today looks great with jeans. Will most likely wear the pearls when I am more dressed up, I have a grey dress that I think they will look great with Annita
DeleteWow, you really came up with a ton of designs with that soup! They all turned out so well too. Well done! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I really tried to use everything in the soup that Alice sent to me, I think all I had left was a few seed beads and I am sure I can use them at some point Annita
DeleteLove the copper washer/fiber necklace and the pearl/button necklace! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you, so glad you stopped by Annita
DeleteYou did wonderful with your soup, I am inspired to play with mine!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jean, this was my first Bead Soup and I really wanted to use everything that was sent to me, even if I had no clue what to do with it. I ponder over the soup for days and was stumped for the longest time then it all made sense and I just decided to "wing it" and started beading with no real plan. This is the result, it was so much fun, can't wait for the next one. Annita
DeleteGosh, you made a ton of pieces with that gorgeous soup. Fab job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer, I was bound and determined to use it all and I did ( I think I had a few seedies left over) Annita
DeleteLove the chain necklace. It wonderful that you used all your soup!

DeleteGorgeous pieces!!! Love what you did with the washers and ribbon, very creative!!! =)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, that one is my favorite! Annita
DeleteAll the pieces are so warm and wonderful ! Wonky pearls are on my next shopping list after seeing how you used them.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I found the wonky pearls at a bead show, when I got my soup I realized that the button was the same color so I started digging into my stash and found the round pearls in the same color...couldn't believe my luck! Annita
DeleteI love what you did with all of your soup. I have to say my favorite is the pearl necklace, but who doesn't love pearls? I think the copper washers and ribbon one was so creative! I do have to comment though, that you really did the most with that first group. I think those were probably the hardest to work with, and that bracelet especially catches my eye. You took some rather difficult beads, and made some snazzy stuff! You are very talented.
ReplyDeleteThank you. You are right the first group had me stumped for a while, I can't tell you how many times I picked up that focal and moved it around with different beads and put it with the other beads in the soup. After I decided to hang the focal vertically, I dug out my wire and then things started to come together. The bracelet was actually the last piece that I completed, after everything else was done, those were the beads left from the soup and I realized that they would coordinate with the first set that I had completed. Thanks again for you comments and complements. Annita
DeleteAnnita, all your pieces are nice but I LOVE what you did with the ribbon and washers. I have to try that, very pretty. Simple, yet very elegant!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shelley, I found the idea for the washer necklace on Pinterest and modified it a little by graduating the sizes of the washers to be bigger in the center, I think that makes it hang better. you can find the link on my pinterest http://pinterest.com/annitaw/ I set it as the cover for the board "jewelry" to make it easy to find! Enjoy Annita
