Best laid plans and all that....

Mine is still a work in progress, having trouble getting it really moving. My original plan was to capture this really cool copper key that I have, but it is lost somewhere is the piles of things that I was rearranging and is not to be found. My second choice is this carved leaf.

I will get it finished eventually... promise

My love affair with neon

I remember back in the 70's all these bright flower stickers that they handed out everywhere and we put all over our cars, lockers, bedroom walls.
Well, the new neon colors in Delica's that I recently picked up at my local bead store ( The Beadles in Broken Arrow, OK ) inspired me to make a cuff that I have had a pattern of for a while now and here is the result:

The Mermaid's Neclace is finished!

Finally finished the Mermaid's necklace, was a struggle to decide how to hang it, everything I tried looked too static, needed to go more organic. I spent days drilling holes in lots of small sea shells (breaking lots of them) and putting pearls and crystals on head pins, then I strung them all together.

They have lots of movement and I love the way it turned out!

Need advice on the "mermaid's necklace"

I am trying to decide which way to make the necklace part on this necklace, do I go with seed beads between the pearls, crystals between the pearls or just use the pearls by themselves??? Annita

Bead Hoarder's Blog Hop Reveal

Well, I have been making lots of stuff with my hoard of beads and things. Haven't quite finished everything thing that I have started but I will eventually.

I started on a Mermaid's Necklace in freeform, that will use lots of beads:

next I went to a Gem and Mineral show and bought a bunch of stones so I did a little wire wrapping:

That is it so far, my bead hoard is not much smaller, but I have been busy and it was fun! Annita

BSBP 3rd Reveal Today!

This was my first piece from the soup that I received. I recently discovered "freeform peyote" and decided to give it a try



This is what I made with the left over beads. I didn't have quite enough to make the cuff as long as I wanted so I "improvised" I think the ribbon lace up is quite cute, but nor sure how practical it is

Went to my local bead shop the other day and found these, they are very pretty worked up but the pic isn't able to show the variation in color very well, think it will most likely end up as a bracelet

Working on my Soup project!

Here is a sneak peak of my bead soup project, not sure if it will stay this way, may change my mind before it is all said and done.

Think I will spend part of the day today playing with wire to clear my mind and let me decide if I like the direction the soup project is going...

Soups here, now to begin to create!

My soup has arrived from my BSBP partner Judy and she has received the soup from me so now it is time to start to create something.

Well my partner Judy should be receiving her box of goodies on Friday, and she said mine should be arriving around the same time. Can't wait to see what she sent and hope that she is happy with the selection I sent to her.

The valentine bracelet was giving me fits (or driving me to drink) so I put it to the side and started on something else.

another day at the bead mat

Well, I haven't accomplished much on the heart bracelet front. I decided I didn't like the colors of pink, not enough contrast, so I changed one of them.

After tearing out quite a bit of beadwork, I started with the new colors and somewhere along the line jumped a line in the pattern so I tore it out again.

Think I will just set this aside and start on something completely different today. Haven't decided what yet, but when I do I will let you know --- Annita

What's going on today ...

Haven't gotten very far on the bracelet, took a break yesterday and ended up asleep on the couch -- lol

I am also in the process of putting together my bead soup for the Bead Soup Blog Party, hope my partner (whomever it is) likes my selections! Annita

Haven't been active for a while

I guess I have just been sort of lazy for a while and haven't blogged for a while now. After my last couple of craft fairs and then the holidays I just lost my blogging mojo!

Hopefully, now that I am recovering from shoulder surgery and things have calmed down for the most part I will get back with the program.

I am looking forward to participating the next Bead Soup Blog Party. I had so mush fun stretching my skills to use materials that were not my usual choices to create something that I really liked.

Should hear who my partner is by the weekend, there are over 500 of us participating.

Sounds like lots of fun to be had by all!
